Sully is a Mid-Missouri native and lifelong artist whose creative journey has taken him across 49 states and 13 countries. A Navy veteran with a deep appreciation for the world’s diverse cultures and artistic traditions, he spent 13 years as a professional tattoo artist before transitioning full-time into fine art. His work is deeply influenced by his experiences, both in travel and in navigating life as an AuDHD individual.
Self-taught in the traditional sense, Sully has honed his craft through years of hands-on practice, mentorships with established artists, and a relentless passion for learning—whether in-person or through digital platforms like YouTube. His approach blends technical precision with raw intuition, resulting in paintings that challenge perception and evoke emotion.
Through his art, Sully explores the intersections of focus, distraction, and the ways in which neurodivergence shapes the creative process. Each piece is a reflection of his unique perspective, inviting viewers to step into a world where attention shifts, textures evolve, and meaning is discovered in both the seen and unseen.
